Signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Endowment Institution (Siraj) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation
Today, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation signed a cooperation agreement with the Endowment Institution for Supporting Education (Siraj), aiming to support the National Scholarship Program within the Sultanate of Oman by funding scholarships for students from social security families and low-income households.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Yahya bin Salam Al-Mandhari, Acting Undersecretary for Higher Education, and on behalf of Siraj by Eng. Mahmoud bin Khalfan Al-Hadidi, CEO.
This agreement comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with civil society organizations and the private sector, encouraging their contribution to enabling Omani students to pursue higher education, thereby supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals and building a knowledge-based society.
Under the agreement, the Endowment Institution (Siraj) will fund seven undergraduate scholarships in Information Technology at the German University of Technology in Oman. The scholarships cover tuition fees and monthly stipends for students from social security and low-income families for the academic year 2025/2026.
Yahya bin Salam Al-Mandhari, Acting Undersecretary for Higher Education, emphasized that signing this agreement reflects the integration between the Ministry and community institutions in supporting higher education, noting that ‘the Endowment Institution for Supporting Education (Siraj) provides a pioneering national model in directing endowment funds to serve education and empower members of the community with quality educational opportunities
